Jesus Christ called me to ministry early in life. I come from a ministry family and married, at age 18, a young man studying to be a pastor in the PC(USA). At the time of our marriage, I had a pretty good idea of the type of life I was getting myself into, but I had no idea what a wonderful adventure I would have along the way. Together in ministry, we have served the people of God in an isolated, Native American village in Southeast Alaska; a rural-suburban congregation in a community north of Anchorage, Alaska; an inner city church in Hollywood; California and a large suburban church in Tucson, Arizona.
My personal life goal is to see the Biblical literacy of the members of the PC(USA) increased. Over the years, this passion has worked itself out in various ways, but for the past fifteen years the Lord has lead me to work primarily in the area of teaching God's word on a weekly basis in local congregations. The “Journeys of Faith” Bible Study Series grew out of this passion. Although there are many Bible Studies available, there continues to be a need for a five-day, multi-week study, which is in-depth and scholarly, and yet not too difficult for first time Bible students.
I believe that the best way to seriously study the Bible is to take God's word book by book over a lifetime. The only things we can take with us to heaven are the growth steps we have made along our faith journey with Jesus Christ. I hope you enjoy this “Journeys of Faith” Bible Study and that God will bless you as you study His word.
