About Me
After three years I accepted a position to pastor a small church where I would be presenting a sermon almost every week. It was there that God began to grow in me a joy for the work that He had called me to do … and now, after 22 years, I continue to find it a delight. I have been asked to speak at retreats, to make presentations at conferences, to teach classes and seminars, to conduct workshops over the course of these years in ministry. And, of course, I have continued to preach. I have been told that my sermons and prayers in worship touch the hearts of those who hear and I am grateful to God for that privilege.

Fee StructureFee Structure & Payment Options When I am asked to be away from my home (and family) for an extended period of time, I must make certain that there is an agreed upon fee. If it is a retreat where one or more overnights are required (travel time to and from included), then the fee will need to be adjusted for that additional commitment of time. For local venues (with only one or two presentations), I will be happy to state an acceptable range for an honorarium, leaving it to the discretion of the committee or board to determine what they can afford but making clear that the minimum is anticipated.

Coming to the place in my life where I actually felt comfortable in front of an audience or congregation took several years. My first call to ordained ministry was as an associate pastor and so I had a month to work on the sermon that I would present on a particular Sunday. It was hard work for me and every time I entered the pulpit I was scared to death.… physically sick to my stomach.….every single time.
